Mike Says:
It’s an honor to have Susie on Roam About.
Not really sure how I found her…maybe through Brigitte; maybe she found me, either way, Susie’s amazing. She’s created quite the following at the great, funny, entertaining adventure blog Susie Lindau’s Wild Ride.
Check it out; she has more badass adventures over the course of a weekend than I do in months. And she wears fake mustaches. AND she’s a skier. She also does this awesome piece called ‘Use and Abuse Me’ where you can post a link to something you’ve written, then get exposure, and introductions to other great bloggers. If you’re new to the blogging world, this is a great opportunity to introduce yourself to a new community.

When Mike asked me to guest post for him while he roams about Asia, I sensed his anxiety. Then I came up with an idea. When roamers and wild riders collide, Mike could hang out like a fly on the wall!
Some of you may not be acquainted with my Wild Ride, but it is always an adventure.
I live in Boulder, Colorado. During the winter, my husband Danny and I drive up to the mountains almost every weekend. March is often the snowiest month of the year.
Recently, we skied at Breckenridge where it dumped the entire day. Colorado resorts are known for their champagne powder since the atmosphere is thin at nearly two miles high. Warm temperatures transformed the usually light “pow” to heavy ice cream snow.
At one point it became hard to see. Skiing off a head wall can be unnerving when visibility is only ten feet. It’s like riding a roller coaster in the dark…only it’s light.
Danny’s iPhone takes such high contrast photos, you can’t see how hard the snow is coming down.
One of our traditions is to start our day with a hot tub, but after a phenomenal day of skiing, this is the only way to relax!
Sayonara Mike! Don’t worry. Everything is under….. **crash**

Where was your last adventure?
Leave a comment and I’ll stop by your blog!
Hey Susie, thanks for introducing another great blogger! I’m going to sit back and travel the here for a bit 😉

Wowza, Mike! Your blog survived the Wild Child. Of course it was ‘used and abused’ (where have I heard that before?) to show off her new Ski Outfit… and shamelessly promote her legs. Some great winter pics and information about snow. Danny came through again, documenting our favorite Wild Thing’s adventures… What no Snow Dance?
Looking forward to your return and finding out where you went in Asia…

Hey Ted! Great to “see” you!
Yep you know me. I am shameless… 🙂 I couldn’t work Mike into the video so I cut it. Next time!
He will have all kinds of stories to tell. In the meantime, Mike has some fun bloggers taking over his post. I can’t wait to see what they come up with!

Thanks Ted. There were a lot of empty beer bottles in the back, and a hole in the ceiling, but the blog survived.
Just returned from Japan – posts regarding coming very soon. Thanks for stopping by!

I think I gotta sympathize with the fly a bit. I didn’t notice a down jacket or anything. Must’ve been cold. Skiing is a whole lot of fun, but Happy Hour afterwards is a crucial part of the whole adventure. Hot tub and a brew, now that’s good livin’.

Hey Eagle Tech!
That is so true. Mike warmed all of his six feet in the hot tub afterward. He wasn’t complaining once Danny brought him a beer!
Thanks for coming by!

Thanks for the guest post, Susie! I’m one of Mike’s regular followers, but you can bet I’ll be stopping by your blog after reading this post!
My last adventure was in Baltimore…my fiancee and I had just finished visiting the National Aquarium and were in search of a bar to watch the UNC basketball. We ended up turning onto an….interesting….street, and were solicited by several strip club bouncers and “ladies of the night” (except it was 4pm). “Curious couples always welcome! Special deals inside for the man and his lady!” Uh, thanks but no.

Hahaha! That is funny! Danny just told me that I am not allowed to go to Europe by myself because I would follow the creepiest people down the deepest darkest alley in France. He wouldn’t be there to bail me out!
Sound like “quite” the adventure and it was only 4???
I do love aquariums and have always been a fish girl.
Thanks for checking out my blog and leaving a comment on Mike’s. 🙂 I will check out your blog too!

Colorado is on my bucket list. One of the reasons I moved to Oregon was because of the great outdoors, but Colorado gives us some stiff competition.
